Leadership Development
Leadership Development (LD) is, roughly, about building the quality of leadership by identifying and developing talent, smooth and successful succession, and the build-up of executive experience.
If we define LD in this way, we can see many organisations struggle with the leadership program. Where the LD-staff is busy with organising the program, their top-executives question whether this program really addresses the important objectives.
Leadership Development contains a set of coherent aligned and connected processes.
Even if the processes may be named differently in different organisations, many of the processes identified will probably take place in one way or another. Some of the processes may be organised at the corporate level and some at the local level.
There is no guarantee, however, that these activities lead to a successful leadership development process, covering the main objectives.
